Astrodome Studios Productions, a division of Astrodome Studios, the proposed motion picture facility for the re-use of the Houston Astrodome, has partnered with documentarians Chip Rives and David Karabinas to produce the company's first product, The Dome, a history of the Eighth Wonder of the World itself. The trailer will feature President George Herbert Walker Bush, Dan Pastorini, Bum Phillips, Nolan Ryan, Dene Hofheinz Anton and former mayor Fred Hofheinz, will debut Thursday, May 28th at the Contemporary Arts Museum, Houston @ 6:30 pm, 5216 Montrose. The filmmakers will be in attendance. The main objective is to provide you with basic information and guidance to help you decide what type of music and sound effects to use for your scenes. TXMPA is pleased to announce the "Rules" for the Texas Moving Image Incentive Law. As we have discussed during our pursuit of enhanced incentives, HB 873 provides a flexible tool that we can use to create a competitive program now and in the future. Our intent has always been to create a program that provides competitive incentives for all aspects of the Moving Image Industry while fitting within the fiscal structure of the State’s budget. We believe the structure of the Rules created by the Texas Film Commission governing the incentive program will be a win for Texas. Early in the process TXMPA lobbied for a program based on total Texas spend in order to better encourage the utilization of our members that provide non-labor resources to moving image productions. The television show America’s Got Talent is in town Tuesday and Wednesday of this week holding try-outs. The performers who showed up would go on to Las Vegas if selected by judges David Hassellhoff, Sharon Osborn and Piers Morgan. Nick Cannon was also in the house and kicked everything off from the balcony, but was not seen much during the taping. There were a dozen or so hopefuls trying to get to the Vegas round some of which were just god-awful and only made it this far for the sake of good television. The entire taping took approximately three hours with breaks being taken between for the stars to get there makeup retouched and for stage hands to set up between performers. It’ll be interesting to see who makes the final cut when the show airs.

We are sad to report the passing of Dan Ammerman. Ammerman, head of The Ammerman Experience was also a former news co-anchor for KTRK, Channel 13 with a very young Dave Ward. Ammerman also appeared in several television movies as well as television shows, including "Dallas". Our condolences go out to the family as well as former co-workers.

Laura Schlecht and the 48 Hour Film Project held a screening at Dean's Credit Clothing to get the word out on the upcoming film project. The screening was for last years winner. Teams of filmmakers will have 48 hours to complete their projects the first weekend in June and will be screen the following weekend.
