SWAMP SCREENING OF GREG CARTER'S GANGLAND @ MFA-H

Greg Carter returns to the MFAH with A Gangland Love Story (2010, 99 min), inspired by Romeo and Juliet and shot in Houston´s Fifth Ward [FOR MATURE AUDIENCES ONLY]. He is a graduate of Texas A&M and has an M.F.A. in Filmmaking from Rice. Carter has produced 17 feature films and documentaries, serving as director and writer on many of them. He is a member of the Texas Filmmakers´ Hall of Fame and has received numerous awards. Greg enjoys teaching filmmaking to young people under the auspices of the Southwest Alternate Media Project (SWAMP) and is currently in post-production on his latest film.

Following the screening, former Houston Chronicle film critic Eric Harrison (www.MovieHouston.com ) conducts a conversation with Carter about his career. Harrison has covered the film industry since 1998. Since 2008, Eric´s writing about movies appeared online. He is a member of the Houston Film Critics Society.
