CHANGES COMING TO HOUSTON ASTRODOME?

In a story reported on KTRK earlier today, reporter Mya Shay talked about the future of Houston's Astrodome. The stadium will be empty during the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo due to the current condition of the building. Numerous code violations including non working exit signs, and water sprinkler systems plague the facility and the cost to repair and bring the building up to code would cost millions. Harris County judge Ed Emmett wants to settle on what to do with the building this year even if he has to force the issue.

Elise Hendrix and her partners at the Astrodome Studios project will present their plans within a few weeks to turn the dome into one of the country's largest film production studios. The studio project would be privately funded at a cost less than 100 million.
I'll keep you posted on how things proceed.
