INVITATION, OCT. 7 ASTRODOME STUDIOS, SWAMP SALON
To Industry Friends and Colleagues:
Your interest and support in strengthening Houston's and Texas' production industry is needed as we actively pursue converting the Astrodome into a major production facility. Not only can this project put people to work, bring more business to the state, and increase your sales and rentals, it can put Houston back on the production map where it used to be. Hope you can join us at the SWAMP salon Tuesday at Rice Media Center.
As always...
Onward and Upward,
Cynthia Neely
SWAMP Salon: Astrodome Studios
Tuesday, October 7, 2008
6:30 PM - Mix, Mingle, and Munch
7:30 PM - Presentation
Location: Rice Media Center, Rice University Campus,
Entrance #8 on University Blvd (at Stockton)
Cost: FREE
Astrodome Studios, the new name tied to the future of Houston's and Texas' film and entertainment industry, is a concept aimed at transforming the former stadium into a major sound stage and production facility. This will become one grand production incentive for all of Texas.
How can it be accomplished and how will it affect you and the industry? Come meet project founders Elise Hendrix and Cynthia Neely as well as Lorrie Foreman, one of the country's foremost structural engineers. They and others believe the historic landmark can become "Hollywood's Dome Away from Home." Lorrie is Senior VP of Irvine Team, a partner of Astrodome Studios and a global design and construction firm specializing in mammoth conversions such as the $95 million transformation of the Compaq Center into Lakewood Church. Also attending will be Astrodome Studios marketing director Bob DeLeon (DeLeon Design Creative Communications), IT and Web Developer Trevor Hatfield (ProLink Media) and future Dome tenants who are ready to sign a lease when the deal is done! Learn more about this campaign, the production and office space that will be available, and what you can do to help make it all a reality.
Astrodome Studios' Web site is slated to launch Monday, October 6, www.astrodomestudios.net.
