Mickey Leland: A Man For All…

The Mickey Leland Story: A Documentary Film (in the making) illustrates how an individual, not born to greatness, managed to uplift and deliver hope to others simply by his personal commitment.
Tragically, it was on a famine-relief mission to an Ethiopian refugee camp that Mickey’s life came to a shocking and untimely end. His plane crashed into a mountain during a severe rainstorm just miles from his destination. His vision of a hunger-free world has yet to be realized, but his example serves as an inspiration. The Mickey Leland Story is a documentary film dedicated to Leland’s legacy of sharing food with the hungry, hope for the hopeless and love with the whole of humanity.

It is with great sadness that I have to report on the passing of Austin actress Maricela Ochoa Henderson. Ochoa lost her battle with breast cancer earlier today. Starting with a ABC After School Special in 1993 she has a pretty steady career in Los Angeles working on show like "Joan of Arcadia," "Missing Persons," "New York Undercover" and "ER." She also had worked in theater as well as several film before having to suspend her career in 2007.
