FALLEN STAR - MARICELA OCHOA-HENDERSON

It is with great sadness that I have to report on the passing of Austin actress Maricela Ochoa Henderson. Ochoa lost her battle with breast cancer earlier today. Starting with a ABC After School Special in 1993 she has a pretty steady career in Los Angeles working on show like "Joan of Arcadia," "Missing Persons," "New York Undercover" and "ER." She also had worked in theater as well as several film before having to suspend her career in 2007. Ochoa leaves behind her husband, family and hundreds of friends.

Below is a facebook post from her husband Mark

A letter from Maricela Ochoa's husband, Mark Henderson

"Dear Friends,

It is with great sadness that I deliver the news of my wife Maricela Ochoa- Henderson's passing. She died peacefully early Monday morning in Austin, Texas surrounded by her loving family.

We will provide more information as it becomes available.

Our love and gratitude goes out to all of you who loved and supported us during our difficult journey.

Much love,

Mark Henderson"

Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends.

Mari is/was one of the most beautiful people you could ever meet. I've known her for over 20 years. We hung out in Chicago and LA. She consistently made you feel good when you saw her. She loved life. Her energy enthused everyone around her. I knew she had been ill and I talked to her previously but it is devastating to know she passed. After meeting Maricela I have no doubt that the saying that "energy can never die" is true...it just changes form. We love you Mari, wherever you are, in whatever form. You must be a shooting star somewhere whizzing around space. We'll see you again friend, Love Bell, Rock and Adore.

Our families in Galveston were very close. It has been many years since I have seen her, and just now discovered that she has passed away and it deeply saddens me. She always made me smile with her beautiful up-lifting personality. I am sorry for not being there for her. Love ya Mari... Judy Cardenas Ponce.

My dear friend, do you remember me? We were work pals back in the 80's at the Hyatt Regency Hotel Chicago. I was a line cook and you were the pretty hostess! So pretty in fact, I just had to ask you out on a date, so we went. Foggy memories of what all happened so long ago but, I remember your smile, pleasant personality and charisma that drew me to you. I had just tuned into watching "Mercury Rising" and just at the right time in the movie, THERE YOU WERE! I am deeply saddened, of course, to realize your passing and wish to extend my heartfelt sympathies, now here 6 years later to your family and friends alike that may still read my post here. Too young you were luv to meet our maker but, as I always say, "I won't say goodbye, I'll just see you later" RIP dear woman!
