TRAILER FOR KATRINA'S SON


This is the trailer for Katrina's Son, one of 2010 Texas Filmmakers Showcase honorees which was screened during the Cinema Arts Festival. The short film is about a tragic tale of a young boy who loses his grandmother in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina and then goes on a search for his birth mother who relocated to San Antonio. The award winning film was created by Ya'Ke Smith.

It is with great sadness that I have to report on the passing of Austin actress Maricela Ochoa Henderson. Ochoa lost her battle with breast cancer earlier today. Starting with a ABC After School Special in 1993 she has a pretty steady career in Los Angeles working on show like "Joan of Arcadia," "Missing Persons," "New York Undercover" and "ER." She also had worked in theater as well as several film before having to suspend her career in 2007.
